Both Tongan and English are spoken throughout the islands.
Christianity is an important component of life in Tonga. Virtually everyone, including the King and Queen of Tonga, goes to church on Sunday. Hymnal harmony fills the fragrant tropical air.
The climate and weather is tropical, modified by trade winds. The warm season is December through May and the cool season is June to November. Tonga is in the typhoon and cyclone belt and may experience storms from January to March.
